Mrs. The Droid Lawyer’s mom, brother, and grandmother have an on-going feud on who can say, “Today’s the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.” Of course, since this post is published at 12:00AM CST, I’m the winner this year.

Attack on Pearl Harbor

I don’t remember any of the actual event, but I’ve talked with enough Veterans and civilians to know the effect on the United States. Similar to the more recent September 11th event, Americans found resolve to battle back and defeat Imperialism and Fascism across the world.

There are a number of different reasons for the build-up and post-Pearl Harbor acts, but it’s ultimately clear that “the Greatest Generation” committed a number of sacrifices to give us the world we know today. For that, I’m grateful.
