Sometimes you need to convert a PDF document to a Microsoft Office Word document for editing. I often use the OCR function in Adobe Acrobat to extrapolate text. This is often a messy process, and requires extra editing to create a usable Word document.

The folks at PDF Solutions, notified me about their really great Android line of PDF conversion apps. In particular, I took a look at Able2Doc (free), a PDF to Word conversion app.

I’m sure a lot of attorneys will love this app, just as much as I do. It’s a simple, and free (check out their other free apps too) way to convert PDF to Word format, and the app actually works really well.

The conversion function is really simple. Use the “Complete action using” command to open the PDF document in Able2Doc.

Complete Action Using

Once opened, the app will begin converting from PDF to Word.

I converted 3 large PDF files, and each one took about 30 seconds. I’m sure large, image-intensive documents would require more time. For free, I’m willing to wait.

After the conversion finishes, you can open or share your document from the Able2Doc app.

Perfectly simple, quick and easy. I converted Able2Doc’s Quick Start Guide, as an example. View the original PDF here, and the converted Word document here.

Overall, this is the perfect addition to the mobile office arsenal. I give this app 5 of 5 stars.
